Active living in Kingston Ontario

Walk with your Doc

WalkWithYourDoc-logo-new-colour-CMYKOn International Move for Health Day, May 9th, doctors in the Kingston area are inviting community members to come out for an easy 2 km walk to advocate for the best prescription for healthy living available – physical activity! This event titled “Walk with your Doc” is being held to send a positive message regarding the importance of exercise and physical activity in both the prevention and treatment of many diseases and illnesses. Regular physical activity has been shown time and time again to improve overall health and well-being and these benefits can come from activities as simple as walking. Canadian guidelines recommend that adults take 10, 000 steps each day and participating in Walk With Your Doc will add about 2,000 – 3,000 steps! Anyone can come out to this FREE event starting at the Newlands Pavillion in City Park by the waterfront on May 9th at 10 am. Be sure to stay for our post-walk yoga session! Interested?
