A specialized branch of figure skating, synchronized skating sees teams consisting of anywhere between 16-20 skaters execute complicated movements on the ice. As suggested by the name, these complex manoeuvres and formations must not only be performed accurately but also in synchronization. Routines include challenging steps, lines, circles, wheels and the crowd pleasing ‘intersections’ in which one part of the team passes through the other in daring splicing moves. Kingston Synchronized Skating Teams are affiliated with the Kingston Skating Club.
