Cycling Week 2015 is an action-packed week of events with something for cyclists of all ages! The week kicks off on Sunday, May 31 with Bike-to-Market Day: cycle to the Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market to enjoy fresh local produce! Kids can decorate their bicycles and take part in fun, interactive Cycling Safety Learning Sessions presented by Cycle Kingston’s Cycling Ambassadors. In conjunction with Cycling Week, the Commuter Challenge will run Monday to Friday. Commuters are encouraged to cycle to work or school and enjoy free Cycling Week Roll-in-Breakfasts throughout downtown between 7:30 and 9:30 each morning. Monday, Empire Life is hosting a breakfast in Market Square. Tuesday’s breakfast will be hosted by AMS and Queen’s Sustainability, corner of University and Union Streets on Queen’s campus. Wednesday’s Roll-in-Breakfast will be hosted by the Kingston Velo Club at Princess and Clergy. Thursday’s breakfast will be at Johnson and Sydenham, hosted by Hotel Dieu. And on Friday, at Market Square, the Roll-in-Breakfast will be hosted by Cycle Kingston. As a bonus, each time you cycle to one of the Roll-in-Breakfasts, your name will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a commuter package for your bicycle! Other things happing during Cycling Week include: bicycle rides offered by the Kingston Velo Club (www.kvc.ca); a “Cycle and Chat with MP Ted Hsu” commute on Friday; and other cycling related activities!
