The city will renew its Grade 9 bus pass system this fall and extend the free rides to include Grade 10 students in Kingston.
Last September, the city issued 648 passes to Grade 9 students, which resulted in students taking more than 28,000 bus trips.

Current Grade 9 students (going into Grade 10) can obtain their free bus pass by visiting City Hall or the Customer Service Desk at Catarqui Town Centre, and can continue using their bus pass all summer long and through grade 10.  Stay tuned for information on how new grade 9 students can obtain their pass for the school year.

Grade 9 students are encouraged to use the bus pass to get to recreation facilities for free access at designated times (simply by showing their student card or “ActivPass”).

Current grade 5 & 9 students can continue to use their ActivPass all summer long.  They can take advantage of a free swim at the YMCA, Scott Aquatic Park or Henderson pool; or workout in an air conditioned facility such as INVISTA or the YMCA.  Skating times are available as well.  Click here for a Grade 5 and Grade 9 schedule and more information on the ActivPass.
