The Grade 5 and 9 ActivPass gives students FREE access to recreation facilities at designated times!

From September until August 31, all grade 5 and 9 students in public and private schools in the greater Kingston area can use their ActivPass. To access facilities, Grade 5 students show their physical activity pass, which they receive at school, and grade 9 students show their student identification card or an ActivPass, which can be picked up in your school office.

Students can enjoy activities such as swimming, ice skating and use of gymnasium at participating organizations. The pass can even be used at the Outdoor Aquatic Centre at Memorial Centre (Scott Aqua Park) for access to the water park during summer months.  Other participating facilities include: INVISTA Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, Memorial Centre, Centre 70, the YMCA of Kingston, WJ Henderson Recreation Centre, Playtrium, the Boys & Girls Club, and more.  New this year is the Queen’s Athletic and Recreation Centre!  Check the ActivPass schedules for details on facility locations and times.  Print it out and post it on your fridge!

Below is the 2016-2017 ActivPass Schedule.  You can use it until August 31, 2017!

Grade 9s:  Look at all the fun ways there are to use your ActivPass!

Free City Transit Pass for Grade 9-12 Students!

Students attending Kingston high schools get FREE access to Kingston Transit from Sept. 1st-Aug. 31st.   Grade 9 students can use their free bus pass to get to recreation facilities, where they can use their ActivPass for Free activities.  Students can obtain their bus cards from either the City Hall Pay It Centre or the Cataraqui Centre Guest Services desk by showing either: a) a current timetable and birth certificate, or b) a current high school student photo ID. There is no cost to obtain the initial bus card for grade 9 students; however, there is a $5 fee for a replacement card and a $5 charge for grade 10-12 students.

The ActivPass, spearheaded by Kingston Gets Active, aims to get students active by reducing transportation and financial barriers.  The idea behind this free program is to provide children and youth with easy and accessible active opportunities so they can be active on a regular basis. Instead of sitting in front of the computer, game console, or TV, kids have a healthier option to get them moving.  Many thanks to our partners for helping to make this initiative possible:  KFL&A Public Health, the school boards, the City of Kingston- Recreation and Leisure Services, Town of Greater Napanee- Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture, the YMCA of Kingston, and WJ Henderson Recreation Centre.  Get out and use your ActivPass today!
